English Poetry Project

As many of my friends decided to advertise by posting the poem on their facebook and asking people like and share their poem, I tried to come up with a more efficient way to advertise my poem which can be seen by many strangers in any age, gender or social categories. A lot of my friends were writing on the ground, but many usually wrote them on unfrequented places like on their neighbourhood places or around the UBC area where there are mainly young students. I chose to write my poem in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery in downtown, where many visitors, residents and different social group of people pass by. As I expected, many people were interested as I was writing down my poem. They asked questions about what the poem was about which gave me a great opportunity to advertise my work. As many people stopped by and read my poem, some even took pictures and videos of the poem on the ground which was beyond my expectation.

This project was very different from the previous poem projects I have done in the past English classes. I felt quite weird and nervous as complete strangers read my poem and took interest. In conclusion, the advertisement at the Vancouver Art Gallery had groundbreaking success.
